FAQ
Quick answers about how Royal Rite pieces are made, shipped and cared for. Anything not covered here, email Jclayton@royalrite.com.
Making
Where are Royal Rite products made?
Every pen, journal and leather cover is made by hand by one maker in Grovetown, Georgia, just outside Augusta.
Are the pens really one of a kind?
Yes. Each Daily pen is hand-turned on the lathe from a single wood blank and numbered. Once it sells, that pen is gone. Limited Drops are machined from raw brass and resin entirely by hand and are never repeated.
What refills do the pens use?
Daily pens take a standard Cross-style ballpoint refill, and every Daily pen ships with a spare. Heirloom pens are built to fit a Parker-style refill.
What leather do you use?
Full-grain vegetable-tanned leather. It softens and darkens with use and develops a patina from how and where it's carried.
Are the journals hand-sewn?
Yes. Pocket notebooks and Traveler's Rite inserts are sewn by hand with no glue, so they open flat and hold up to daily carry.
The Traveler System
What comes with the Traveler's Rite?
The leather cover, an elastic closure in black, burgundy, brown or tan, and two hand-sewn inserts. See the Traveler's Rite.
Can I buy refills?
Yes. Refills come in sets of three. When an insert is full, keep it and slide in a new one.
